Divergent Trilogy Part 2

"I know. The test didn't work on you." Tori replied, "You just have to trust your gut."

Hi guys I'm here to finish of the first few chapters.

The next day is choosing day. At choosing day you take a knife and in pail your self with it and drop your blood into the faction that you choose. Erudite is clear water. Amity is dirt. Abnegation is smooth stones. And Dauntless is burning coals. And Candor is glass.

Beatrice and Caleb line up with the other faction members in order from last name that starts with Z to A. When Marcus Eaton, the mayor of the town, steps up he calls the name of all the 16 year old boys and girls.

"Prior, Caleb" Marcus says.

And Caleb steps forward, takes the knife and cuts himself and drops his blood into the Erudite bowl. Clapping begins. As you know Erudite and Abnegation are enemies.

"Prior, Beatrice." Marcus says

Then it is Beatrice's turn. She walks up to the stand takes the knife and thinks to herself: I'm sure I will choose Abnegation. If Caleb wasn't fit for Abnegation than neither am I. But I have to do this for my parents. I have to! But I can't. She puts the knife to her hand cuts herself and lets the blood accidentally drop on the floor, but with a gasp moves to the Dauntless bowl and lets her blood sizzle on the coals. I am selfless, I am brave. she thinks to herself.

After the ceremony is done the Dauntless push her out the doorway and to the stairs. I thought Abnegation were the only ones who take the stairs. But I guess not. They rush down the stairs and to the train tracks and climb to the top of the ledge and wait for the train. She feels a rumble under her feet and then Beatrice looked up and saw a train speeding toward her and the other Dauntless members. But the train didn't stop. Beatrice saw that the other Dauntless members and inanities were starting to run along with the train. She starts to run along with them then all of a sudden, one Dauntless members start jumping on tho the train while it is still moving. Beatrice is is getting closer to the end of the platform. She grabs on to the train and let's it drag her to the edge but then she swings her legs up on to the train and in the car. When she finally catches a breath the girl beside her says, "Welcome aboard. I'm Cristina from Candor. Now is just me or are they trying to kill us?" She laughed at her own joke. Then Beatrice said, "I'm Beatrice, nice to meet you Christina."

Thanks for dropping by again to read a little bit more of Divergent.

Divergent trilogy

The Divergent Trilogy is a very good book series that I am about to tell you about.

DIVERGENT
There was once a war that destroyed the whole world and one city survived, it was Chicago.
After the war the founders of the city decided to build a wall to protect the city from the reaming things outside of the wall from the war.

The City's founders also decided to divided the city into five groups these groups are called Factions. One of the Factions is Erudite. Erudite people know everything, they are the scientists of the faction groups. Amity is focused on kindness. they are the peacekeepers of the city. They are also farmers on the outside of the wall. Candor is the truthful faction. They tell the truth even when you don't want them to. Abnegation is helpful to the poor(faction-less) they are also the governing faction because they are devoted to being helpful. Dauntless are the protectors of Chicago. The other factions think that they are the crazy people of the city. They are always climbing on buildings bridges.

Beatrice Prior is the main character in the series. She is in the Abnegation faction along with her family, Andrew Prior, Nattily Prior and Caleb Prior. when you turn 16 you have to take a aptitude test to see what faction you belong in, weather you stay with your parents in there faction of go on to another faction. even of you don't want the faction that you would be most good at you can pick different. so when Beatrice goes into her aptitude test she is surrounded by herself. then one of herself says "Choose." and there is a knife or meat. and she says, "Why?" but then she is sounded by dogs that look ready to eat her. The dog lunges for her she throws it down. Then the dog goes again but Beatrice kneels down and the dog turns to a puppy. Then there is a girl there who is admiring the puppy but then the puppy is a hungry dog again and runs after the girl. So Beatrice gets up and runs after the dog and jumps on top of it and sinks into the floor. But this time there are no mirrors and no dogs. but she is on the bus. There is a Candor man sitting next to her with a milk carton with a picture on the back of a man that seems familiar to her. The Candor man ask's if she knows who he is. but she dose and she says "No I do not know who that is." and he replies, "Don't you lie to me." and Beatrice says "I'm not lying!" even though she was. then the next thing she knew was she was in the room again with the girl who was giving her the aptitude test, Tori. She said, "Get up." and Beatrice says, "What was my result? Tell me my Result!" "You didn't have just one result. You had three." Tori said. "Erudite, Abnegation and Dauntless." "How is that possible... That's not possible." Beatrice said. "It's not Impossible... It's just extremely rare. They call it Divergent." Tori replied. "But the test was supposed to tell me what to choose!" Beatrice said.

And Next Time I might Finish it. but thanks for dropping.

Star Fall

I just finished a book called Star Fall by Michael Cadnum(this is a greek myth so if you don't like greek myths this probably isn't the book for you). It's about the son of Apollo(the greek sun god) and the son of a mortal who's name is Phaeton. Phaeton is really fast but this is not enough, his father pays no attention to him(at least that's what he thinks) and the local towns people are starting to doubt that he is actually Apollo's son. So Phaeton decides to go on a journey to the gates of heaven at the end of the world wear his fathers castle lays. As he is traveling there he is gifted with the power to be as fast as the wind so he makes it to the end of the world in no time. When he gets to his fathers castle his father is so exited to see him that he promises to grant one wish whatever he wishes. So Phaeton decides that he wants to drive the chariot of the sun(AKA the sun). His father who swore that he would do whatever he wishes has to allow his son to drive the chariot, even though the horses who pull the chariot are much to strong for any mortal to control. Phaeton tries anyway, he ends up losing control and setting flame to the world but, Jupiter the god of the sky sends a rain to wash away the fire and kills Phaeton living his ashes in the river.

Brother going to prom

I just found out that my brother asked someone to prom and i said" i thought you were not going to prom." I just can't wait till he has to get all dressed up and go to a dance. I think he is going to look so funny and all my family is going to have to fix him up so he looks nice and find a car to use or ask my grandma if he can use her Camaro  witch would be so shocking because he is a country  boy and he has a truck. So who knows what he is going to do.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days By:Jeff Kinney

I am reading Dairy of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days and I am really liking this book he really does not have anything to do over the summer because he is not really liking his best friend Rowley right now even though they go to the ocean together but that does not end up so good either and he is having trouble with Rodrick like always you guys should really read this book because if you guys love humor this book book is the one to read because it is full of it.

The Ally

Last weekend me and my family went to this thing called the Ally. The Ally has go carts, bowling, laser maze, pool table and pizza and drinks.  My favorite part was the go carts. I didn't bowl because I LOVED the Go-Carts and the laser maze! It was so fun

First Scholars Bowl Meet

Our first Scholars Bowl Meet was on Tuesday and I was on the team to compete in it! I was really excited and nervous. When we got on the bus Amala and I did some would you rather questions to pass the time. When we got to Hillsboro, both the 7th grade and 8th grade teams filed into what I think was the lunchroom. Then, we all got cookies even if some of us weren't competing.
The first team we went against was Haven. They only had 2 people on their team, while we had five. The score was 10 to 80. We won the first round and went to a different room to compete against Halstead. At first, I thought we had a chance of losing because Halstead had a pretty good team, but they were nothing compared to Smokey Valley. Luckily, we won against Halstead and Smokey Valley and had our break.
During the break, we found out that we got into the semifinals and were competing with Smokey Valley for first place. Whoever got 2 out of 3 rounds was the winner. The first round was close, we won by five. The second round was also close, we lost by five. By this point I was nervous that we would lose. The last round would determine who would win first place. We had a rocky start because of an interruption we started out with -5, but then we made our come back. It was 20-90! We won in a landslide. My first Scholars Bowl Meet was really fun and I hope I can compete in the next one.

Winter

The book I am reading now is Winter by Marissa Meyer it is like another version of Snow White. Winter is beautiful ever more that her stepmother Levana who just makes herself appear beautiful. Winter is a very kind girl but her stepmother does horrible thing to people to prove her power to people and Winter has had to watch. It had kind of scarred Winter she imagine things. For example she swears the castle walls are bleeding and she says no one ever cleans it up. Winter doesn't have very many friends but there is one guard for the castle who is very kind to her and is her only friend. He is in love with her as she is him he is one of the few who can talk her out of her hallucinations. You will have to read the book to learn more about Winters story.

Know Jesus

💙  Know Jesus is a youth group retreat that I'm going to this weekend! I'm stoked! It's a 2 day 1 night retreat. Basically your running at night all around the Hesston College campus. I've never done it before, but I know I'll enjoy it. There is going to about 200 youth coming to this event. It's going to be very busy. I'm really excited because at night we are going to play sleeping bag tag and duck duck goose in our sleeping bag tag. I don't think anyone will get sleep, which is okay with me. We are going to be up all night partying! I can't wait!💙

Inspiration

Hey guys!

I just wanted you all to know that you are special, and smart. Whether you have a big test coming up, or if you have a speech, or maybe just hard homework, don't give up! Here are some tips for studying for a test, of speech, or just class!

  • Do all things in moderation: I know studying can be boring, or seem non-useful, but for lots of people, it really helps! So to ease the stress of studying, grab a snack, a drink, and curl up in a comfy corner with lots of pillows and blankets!
  • You should also take breaks. My favorite routine is study for 3x as long as your break. So you could study for 15 minutes, then take a 5 minute break, or 30:10. Either way, it makes studying so much more easy!
  • Make sure you have everything you need when you sit down. If you keep getting up, it causes you to be off task, and makes your studying less effective.
Good luck!

Christmas Break

Christmas Break
Over Christmas break Me and my family, minus my sister, went to watch a Broncos football game in Kansas city against the chiefs. If you didn't know me and my mom are Broncos fans, but my dad and grandpa are chiefs fans. The Broncos ended up losing by a lot, 23 points. After that, we went to stay at my mom's uncles house because it was a Sunday night game and ended late. He lives in Kansas City so it wasn't a very long drive. But, the bad thing was he is a giant chiefs fan so he was at the game. Then I had to stay the night at his house. It was not very pleasant. The next day when I woke up we ate breakfast and then left to go home.

My Trip to New Mexico

Hello people. Today I am going to blog about my trip to New Mexico.

So lets start with the van ride. The van ride was............... let's say..................horrid. It took for ever and we left at 10:40pm and got there around 8:00am. And I could not sleep at all!!!!!!!!

Now the actual thing..... is amazing!!!  It's like when you go so fast it feels so good. But when you fall it really hurts I got a big bruise that is about the size of my palm!!

Well I have to go.... bye

Jenna.

Ice storm

Over this weekend there is supposed to be a really big ice storm. I hope it comes so we can get snow for like the 2nd time this year it has not been a very snowy winter. Some people even thought it was even going to be wet Christmas and not a white Christmas. We may even get Tuesday off because there is to much ice on the ground. That would be awesome if that happened cause then we could hang out with friends for the day.

have a good weekend

If I Were In The Hunger Games...

If I were in the Hunger Games I think I could maybe make it. As long as I didn't drag around someone as useless and weak as Peta, because honestly what is frosting cakes gonna do for you in the Hunger Games? Nothing that's what. "Oh no we are in a cave and you are dying. I know lets make out!" I mean I get Katniss was doing it to survive and make the fans happy but still. You are in the Hunger Games, not the Lover Games.
Instead what I would do is go solo, find water, and hide. Then again I also know that if I did that it would be really boring and the game makers would probably send some fireball my way or something. Or maybe so bad CGI dogs my way that have the eyes of the fallen competitors. You know, one of the two. Also NEVER TEAM UP WITH THE CAREERS. EVER. I mean sure you may be safe at first but sooner or later you are going to have to kill each other and no one likes someone that kills off their teammates. It would be like me running a race in track and then tripping the person running for the same school as me, just so I could get first.
However I do not think I could be that stealthy in the Hunger Games. I would be sneaking up to some one to get the sneak attack and then it would be the classic twig snaps, and then I am dead. I also hate bugs so I think if I saw a tracker jacker or any kind of weird mutant bug for that matter, I would die of too much screaming. And if I did survive the too much screaming then I would alert everyone to my location and I would still die. That is just my opinion of course. What would you do if you were in the Hunger Games? Do you agree or disagree with my opinion?

1000 to 1

This blog will be about the movie called 1000 to 1: The Cory Weissman Story. Some of the members of the cast are David Henrie,Luke Kleintank,Cassie Thomson and a lot more people. This is a great inspirational movie for everyone. It is based on a true event.
It is about this teenager named Cory that was very popular in school and in sports. The sport he was most good at is basketball. He scored over 1000 points in his years in high school playing basketball. He get a scholarship to Gettysburg collage for basketball. His freshman year in collage he had a massive stroke. Well the stroke caused him to not be able to walk normal which included not playing basketball. He gets really upset that he has to go through so much physical therapy and can't be playing  basketball. When he finally gets to walk, it was not his original walk that he had before his stroke. Something are different then they were before. Then the doctor said he can finally play he plays a little and in the last seconds of the game he gets fouled. The score is tied if he makes the one of the two free throws they win the game. He misses the first free throw. The second free throw is going around rim slowly and goes in. The crowd goes wild. And that the end of the movie.
I really like this movie because it inspires people to push themselves even if they are going through hard times. I would give this movie five stars, thumbs up rating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

Winter freeze

I'm going to take a break from the Dog Blog just for today, and tell what's going on right now. Today is Friday, January 13, 2017. It's winter and there's not much to do outside other than bundling up and taking a walk. But this weekend, I probably won't be able to even do that. There's going to be a big freeze and the roads will be too slippery to drive on, let alone walk on.
This coming Monday, we don't have any school. Honestly, I wish we didn't have school off for some teacher thing. I know that sounds absolutely crazy, but there's a good reason. If we moved it to Tuesday then, we probably have two days off. Why you ask?( even if you didn't ask yourself that, i'm going to tell you anyway) The roads are probably be too icy to drive to school, so on Monday we wouldn't even be able to go to school.
What will I do all weekend, while i'm frozen in? I'll probably charge up all my external batteries, because the ice would weigh down the power lines, and play on my phone or tablet, and play games with my family. I'd probably stock up on food that doesn't require refrigeration or cooking.
What would you do in my position? See you later!!!!!!

Weekend

Today I am going to blog about what am I going to do on the 3 day weekend. #1. Play TitanFall 2, TitanFall 2 is a game on which you can ether play on online or play single play (story mode). TitanFall 2 is about a pilot ( pilots operate titans.) named Jack Cooper and his Titan, BT 7274. You fight people who want to destroy planets and control space. ( remind you of anything *cough*StarWars*cough*) you play as Jack and BT, you get BT different titan load outs, Fight enemy titans and pilot, battle boss titans, and preform awesome titan executions. #2 play Minecraft #3 work out (obviously got to keep in shape for soccer) that is it for this blog hoped you enjoyed it see you next time

Waconda Lake

Over winter break I went to a small town of Glen Elder. I say small town because the amount of people living there is less than 400. But even though it is a small town in houses a large dam. The dam is over Waconda Lake, which at the time we were there, was froze over. To get to the lake we had to walk about 4 blocks from where our house was, and up a steep hill. After that, we climbed down to where the edge of the frozen water. When we saw that it was frozen we decided to walk on it over to the edge. I didn't walk on it at first. I just stayed at the edge and threw rocks at my brothers to make them slip. But after a while I had gotten bored of that and walked as quickly as I could (without slipping) over towards my brothers.
We were on the ice for about 20 minutes, but then we had gotten bored. Since we were all cold and to lazy to walk back home, we called out step mother to come pick us up. When she arrived we asked her if she could drive us around the dam and on the road above the lake. She agreed and we drove around for 10 minutes. It was scary since we were so high up, but it was really fun. I would come back whenever I have the chance.

Basketball

With our middle school basketball season coming to an end, I have had many memorable moments.  Our Hesston Swathers have gone fourteen and zero this season so far with one game left. The whole season has been a huge accomplishment for me, and my teammates. I have had a blast throughout these fourteen games, and it has built up my confidence and skill for this sport. Our team has some experience, we have played since third grade, we know our potential. This season, we have defeated every team we have played by double digets. Our basketball season has been a blast for me and everyone else.

Athletic

This year I tried out basketball and I had good thoughts on the sport, but when I practiced I stunk badly. I didn't know the right shooting form, the right way to pass,  and dribbling was a problem.
Second day wasn't to bad,  my running was a little more in shape than first practice. Third practice I finally found the right shooting form, it took me a couple days to adjust to it but I was fine after two days. Next week was the big game against hillsboro, I was pumped to play, I was starting guard at half court ready for the whistle to blow. The whistle blew the game started, I ran to my man to defend, we got a turnover and I sprinted down the court as I got the pass for a layup. I missed but my head was still up as it happened three more times. The game ended with me having zero points and two assist, my team won which was all that mattered. The next day at practice I practiced my shooting I wasn't doing to hot, but each week got better as I made more and more, to this day my goal is to be on B team this year.

The dangers of shovels

There are quite a few main dangers with shovels. Here are all the main dangers of shovels. The first main danger is you are carrying a shovel on your shoulder and someone comes up behind you and is like "Hey you took my pencil", so you turn around and accidentally whack them in the face with the shovel and end up knocking them out. The second main danger is when you attach a shovel to the front of your bike to plow the sidewalk, but you get snow in your eyes and can't see where your going. At the other side of the sidewalk there is an innocent pedestrian walking who also gets snow in his eyes, and he can't see where he is going either. Then you accidentally run into him with your shovel. The third and last main danger with shovels is if you are shoveling snow of your roof, and then you lose grip on your shovel and it falls off the side of the house and hits someone. That is why you be careful with shovels.

The Ice Storm

The ice storm is supposed to hit Hesston I am not really worried but a teacher gave us a prompt to write about and it was when the ice storm hits and the power goes out for three days that would be horrific not having anything to contact friends to hang out or anything. So that got me a little worried but still not that worried about that because my family is going to Kansas City to watch my sister play vollyball with her club team. Thanks for reading.

SAO

Sword Art Online (SAO) is a tv show on netflix. It is about a virtual reality video game. In the game you can have different sword skills, depending on which ones you have you can do different things. If you die in the game you die in real life and you physically cannot get out of the game without the game being beaten it or dying. In the game the goal is to beat all one hundred floors. In the tv show the main character Kirito was a beta tester of the game and has a unique sword skill. I think it is a really cool show and that you should watch it.

Chains

Chains

Today I am writing about my book Chains by Laurie Anderson. It is about a girl Isabel and her younger sister Ruth being sold into slavery. They have to move from Rhode Island to New York. The book is set during the start of the Revolutionary War. Isabel's new owner can not wait for the king to kill all of the American rebels. She is also not very kind to Ruth or Isabel.  I am almost finished with the book and so far it has been really good. I would recommend reading it but a warning it is really sad.

The Ice Storm

So, supposedly there is supposed to be an ice storm this weekend. I'm pretty excited for it! I mean it may mean not being able to drive anywhere because it's icy, but I'm okay with that. It also might be icy enough that I can go "ice skating" on the road. That will be fun and possibly painful!
If it's not icy enough than I will be sitting on the couch in my PJ's drinking hot coco, and eating breakfast. Not go outside because I'm a loser and a wimp because it's to cold. Yep, that's me;).
I will also be sleeping in because everyone needs their beauty sleep. I'll wake up and probably stay in my PJ's for most of the morning.
That's my plan if the ice storm comes. Hopefully it does come!

Hexagon Popsicle Shelf

During winter break, I found this really cool DIY called a Hexagon Popsicle Shelf. The only things it used was popsicle sticks, glue, and paint. This is how you make it.
You will need:
  • about a hundred popsicle sticks
  • hot glue or just regular glue (hot glue dries faster)
  • color of paint in your choice
First you will need to arrange 6 popsicle sticks into the shape of a hexagon. Then you glue each popsicle stick into place. This will be the base. After that you continue gluing on popsicle sticks until you run out. If you used regular glue make sure everything is dry before adding more popsicle sticks. When you are done gluing on popsicle sticks, take the color of paint and start painting the front first. After painting the front, paint the inside and the outside. When the paint is dry, use a push pin to hang up the shelf.

One Word

Free throws
The one word (two words) I chose was Free throws. I chose this word because I need to work on making my free throws. Because on pressure free throws I have to make them and if I don't me and my team has to run. And during game I need to make free throws too.

The One Event

This weekend I am going to the One Event, if the weather allows of course. The One Event is a church event which is for any of the churches in the Great Plains area which consists of any Methodist church in Nebraska or Kansas. This year a church in Salina will be hosting it they are having a lot of performers there. You get to stay there overnight but since its so close though my church is going to drive us back again for the next day instead of spending the night. There is music and comedy acts there will also be a speaker, I can't wait to go I have been looking forward to it all year.
The only problem with the One Event is I have to miss watching the C team tournament which really stinks but, I am still happy I get to go.

Chapstick Holder

This blog post is to show you how to make a chapstick holder. You will need:

  • Ribbon (about 3 inches)
  • A 1 1/2 foot by 2 inches strip of fabric
  • Key ring
  • Sewing machine
  • Sewing machine accessories

First, you start with a piece of fabric a little longer than 1 1/2 feet long, and a width about 2 inches long. Fold the fabric over, and sew the two edges. Turn inside out, then press. After you do that, fold it over about the length of your chapstick. Then, fold in the excess fabric at the top to your desired length, and stick in your folded piece of ribbon. Then, sew all around the edges. If it is too big for your chapstick then sew an extra decorative stitch around the edges. The last step is to add a key ring to the ribbon. Then you have a chapstick holder!
