Waconda Lake
Over winter break I went to a small town of Glen Elder. I say small town because the amount of people living there is less than 400. But even though it is a small town in houses a large dam. The dam is over Waconda Lake, which at the time we were there, was froze over. To get to the lake we had to walk about 4 blocks from where our house was, and up a steep hill. After that, we climbed down to where the edge of the frozen water. When we saw that it was frozen we decided to walk on it over to the edge. I didn't walk on it at first. I just stayed at the edge and threw rocks at my brothers to make them slip. But after a while I had gotten bored of that and walked as quickly as I could (without slipping) over towards my brothers.
We were on the ice for about 20 minutes, but then we had gotten bored. Since we were all cold and to lazy to walk back home, we called out step mother to come pick us up. When she arrived we asked her if she could drive us around the dam and on the road above the lake. She agreed and we drove around for 10 minutes. It was scary since we were so high up, but it was really fun. I would come back whenever I have the chance.
